What To Do During Long Flights?
We travel a lot...it's part of our running TVH and we just like seeing new places. That means we spend a lot of time on planes and in airports. For some, it's the worst part of travel but we actually find it kind of relaxing. Up until fairly recently, once your plane took off you couldn't get any calls or emails and it was pretty freeing feeling. Now days, there is in-flight wifi and a few airlines offer messaging apps (like What's Ap, and Facebook messenger) for free during the flight.
Even if the airline offers some entertainment, it's always a good idea to have a few standby options available on your phone or tablet. The most obvious choices are e-books, games and downloaded music or movies. Some less conventional options are language learning apps (Duolingo is a favorite of mine), Evernote for finally writing that blog post or long email message and Audible for audiobooks. Lastly, take some time to look out of the window and see the world go by - you could get a bird's eye view of the Grand Canyon or the beautiful Florida Keys!
Also, don't forget headphones, a good neck pillow and an eye mask to get some sleep on that long flight - it's the secret to minimizing jet lag!
